Does this remove the owner password too?
Yes. Both the open-password (the one you type to view the file) and owner restrictions like no-print or no-copy are removed from the unlocked copy.
Does the output keep selectable text?
Yes. We decrypt the actual document with qpdf running in your browser, so the unlocked copy is identical to the original (same selectable text, same quality), just without the encryption.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The file, the password, and the decryption all happen locally in your browser. Nothing touches a server.
I don't know the password. Can you crack it?
No. We do not attempt to guess or brute-force passwords. You must know the password to unlock the file.
The file isn't actually protected but you're asking for a password. What gives?
If we detect the file isn't encrypted, we skip the password step and tell you. You can use it directly in any other Zelume tool.
