How long should a post-interview thank-you note be?
80 to 140 words. Long enough to reference something specific from the conversation; short enough that the recruiter reads it in 20 seconds. Every draft Zelume generates lands in that range.
When should I send my thank-you note?
Same day if possible, within 24 hours at the latest. Recruiters and hiring managers make decisions fast. A note that lands after the debrief is too late to influence the outcome.
Do I have to mention something specific from the interview?
It makes the note 10x stronger. Generic 'thanks for your time' notes get ignored; notes that reference one concrete thing from the conversation (a project they mentioned, a question you fumbled, an opinion they had) are the ones that move you forward.
